Christmas 1995

December 6, 1995

Feliz Navidad!  I now have a Certificado de Excelencia por satifacer los requisitos para graduar
del curso:  Espanol de Negocio-Advanzado.  I think that means I have graduated from Advanced
Beginner Business Spanish class.  Aside from learning Spanish, I have learned what it is like to
drive to work by myself every day (I can sing as loud as I want and nobody seems to mind!).
Traveling is still a priority for us.  This year, in addition to revisiting Reno, Crested Butte, Denver,
Charleston, West Palm Beach, Miami, Pensacola, Tampa, Washington, D.C., New Orleans, Las Vegas,
Nashville, Saint Thomas, Montego Bay, Boston, San Antonio, San Francisco, and Manchester, England,
we added a few new cities to our list:  Bozeman, Philadelphia, Key West, & Jackson, Mississippi.  In
Bozeman, we did some snowmobiling through Yellowstone National Park.   Snowmobiling is not nearly
as much fun as it looks, especially when there isn't much snow Braves Spring Training was a real treat
this year even though it wasn't the REAL Braves.   We visited Key West for the first time and liked it
so much we went back a second time.  The first trip, we rented bicycles and pedaled around enjoying
the scenery, but the second trip, we wised up and rented mopeds.  I finally won a plaque at the Delta
Ladies' Golf tournament - 3rd place in the 9th flight!  The competition was pretty fierce, there were
seven people in the 9th flight, but before the tournament was over, four of them withdrew!  I also
played in the Worldspan Golf Tournament at Doral.  We went to Jack Tarr Village in Jamaica where
we made friends with one couple who was honeymooning, one couple who was celebrating their 10th
anniversary, and a lady who was celebrating her divorce.  Most recently, we visited Scotland.  Seven
close friends fit very snugly into a mini-van and Tony is very good at driving on the wrong side of the
road.   He is also pretty good at tuning out the off-key renditions of the hits of the 70's performed
by my backup singers and me as we rolled across Scotland never seeming to be able to find a radio
station.  I am on a diet preparing for my high school class reunion cruise next year!  Hard to believe
in the 20 years since I walked those hallowed halls, I have only put on 2 pounds (at least thats what
they'll all think when they see me in June).

That about wraps up our year!  Hope yours was healthy and happy and that next year is even better!
